We are Helen and Bob and we would like you to share our home and the peace of our woodland garden, a haven for wildlife where the river flows under Dalqueich Bridge to Loch Leven, with its wonderful Heritage Trail.

Dalqueich Farmhouse is a traditional Scottish farmhouse which is over two hundred years old. Set in large grounds bordering on one of the main rivers leading into Loch Leven, it is in a delightful, quiet, rural location nestling into the foothills of the Ochil’s. For the last thirty years we have welcomed guests from all over the world to enjoy our lovingly restored house and garden.

We hope you will enjoy relaxing in the conservatory or in the sitting room, with the extensive library of relevant books and maps. Many of the books are about Scotch whisky and if you wish Bob can share his knowledge and stories of his career in Scotch!

There are excellent beds and showers and we both love cooking so good food with home produce awaits you (our own free range eggs, home baked bread, award winning marmalade and jams).

One family room is available, (with a double and single bed) with en-suite facilities, and the other room, a double, has a King size sleigh bed and its own adjacent private shower room.

Both rooms have TV, with integral I-pad docking facility, DVD and CD player (we can loan you DVD’s or CD’s) and clock radio alarm. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided as is free Wi-Fi. The rooms have ample storage space, dressing tables, hair drying and ironing facilities. A generous supply of towels and good range of toiletries are provided.

The house is fully centrally heated, but in cooler weather we light open fires in the guest’s sitting room and dining room to add to the cosy atmosphere.

Amble through the garden down to the river where, amongst the abundant wildlife, red squirrels and kingfishers may be seen. You are welcome to use and enjoy the many seating areas around the garden and enjoy breakfast outdoors or an evening picnic.

Dalqueich is excellently located for touring Scotland, being within five minutes’ drive of the M90. Perth, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all within easy reach, and, for skiers, both Aviemore and Glenshee are about an hour and a half away.

Guests love both the local Loch Leven Heritage trail, and boat trip to Loch Leven Castle with the panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

Hill walkers enjoy the gently rolling Lomond and Ochil hills - you can start from Dalqueich and go directly up into the hills for a delightful day out - we can supply the packed lunch.

The rural road network has well marked cycle routes and the Heritage Trail is a very popular route. Bicycles can be securely locked away and there is ample parking within the grounds.

Golfers have numerous choices- Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie are within easy driving distance and locally, Milnathort, Kinross, Muckhart, Dollar and Crieff are easily accessible from Dalqueich.

Loch Leven is an internationally famous nature reserve - the RSPB have extensive facilities. In addition, ospreys fly in the Ochil hills and can also be seen nesting at Loch of the Lowes by Pitlochry,- about 45 minutes’ drive. Recently re-introduced sea eagles have also been seen on the Loch, and especially on St Serf’s Island.

Less than an hour's drive away, Fife's coastal path offers a very different experience along a largely undiscovered coastline with its delightful fishing villages, secluded coves and beaches and fascinating geology (Scotland’s Jurassic coast!). The boat trip to the Isle of May with its sea and birdlife offer another adventurous day out.

We hope to inspire you to explore some more.

Please note that to keep the room costs down we do not have the facility to accept credit card payments. In Scotland, smoking indoors is illegal in all paid accommodation.
